Today is the busiest day I've ever had since I resigned from ABS-CBN. I took the liberty to organize a little something for my parents as they celebrate (as we speak, in Shangri-La Makati Hotel, teehee) their 25 years of being husband and wife. Yep, it's their wedding anniversary today. It dawned on me, just last Sunday, that I needed something to prepare for my parents coz it's just once that they celebrate this certain occassion, although they have something of their own funky celebration next weekend at Fort Ilocandia. It is today that I wasn't able to have a decent number in hours of sleep because I told myself this has to be perfect and I wanted so much to surprise both my parents, coz this wedding anniversary means so much to me. It IS VERY SPECIAL.

When I finally got in the room and arranged everything, of course I had my assistant Sheena to help me with other stuff, I was really excited about this whole thing. We had dinner at RED, just inside Shangri-La Makati. As we were talking about my future plans, I wanted so much to cut my dad and bring on the surprise but he was so into the topic of my wedding plans that I delayed my surprise for more minutes. When I finally had the itch to give it to them, I brought out the envelope with the hotel key and brought them to their room and both of them were in awe. They liked the rose petals on the floor going to the bed, the candle effects as well the floating candles, and especially the frame of collage i made, of pictures of us in places we've been. It was nice. Nothing is in comparison with that night we made as a family. It is memorable. We lingered for a while in the room as we talked more and my dad started cleaning up the mess coz the candles started dripping. It was all good.

Then my sister and I headed home as we left them to enjoy each other, it's a nice feeling that you made both of your parents happy, even in a small way. The thing we had earlier was so nice that it seems like nothing happpened before. Well, past is past and we all need to move on. I think I got this from Six Feet Under that every family has its own abnormality and each family is incomparable with another. We all have our own stuff. We all have different issues.

What happened earlier from the organizing part to bringing them the surprise part is priceless. I wouldn't trade the memory we made for the world.

It is the willingness to be with each other that makes us one." - heidi
